I enjoyed being there, but I don't like the divers, some of them drive to fast. And that is dangerous
Facility isnt that bad compared to some state run rehabs. But theyre very under staffed and any time theres a problem it seems like the staff plays pass the buck. There are some staff memebers who actually care and want to see you rise up and conqouer your demons, but then there are other staff members like terrence for example who just seem to talk down to people and power trip. As chaotic as the staff makes it there, it by far isnt the worst place in nj. But my main gripe on this place is how terrible the beds are, literally like sleeping on a concrete slab, thats how bad they are. I had no idea mattresses that cheaply made/ uncomfortable even exsisted. The food was about 3 steps up from jail food, the only thing that needs dire improvement here is certain staff members attitude and way he acts like patients are prisoners, and mattresses that arent made out of concrete, its hard enough trying to sleep in a rehab around a bunch of other stressed out people who also dont feel good from withdrawaling at that point it is already extremely difficult to sleep but then add a mattress like that and it truely becomes impossible
one must be reminded that Core Health is the new kid on the block and many other facilities are jealous of it's new furnishings and over all facility. Go visit it. It is not affiliated with out of state facilities most of which have questionable reputations. NJ has strict requirements, many other states are loose and thus are not acceptable programs. sometimes patients are not happy with discipline and can bad mouth a facility. Come see for yourself.
This place saved my life... no joke... I don't know about any bed bugs... the place was clean and the staff there really cared about me and my recovery and more importantly about making sure I was set up to succeed before I left there... they also put my families mind at ease and included them in my recovery process...thanks core for everything!
First, I would like to thank Lisa S. She is the catalyst that makes this program succeed. She is extremely dedicated. She was instrumental in guiding me to completing the program. She helped me accept and understand my addiction and how it affected all aspects of my life. She was also very helpful in teaching me respect and self-reliance. She taught me to accept and love myself for who I am and that I don't need to hide or be ashamed of myself. The work she has done with me was literally life changing. I cannot thank her enough for all that she has done. She freed me of a burden that was holding me back not only in my addiction but in life in general. I have a deep admiration for her and feel so lucky that I was under her wing. Many thanks Lisa!! I cannot say enough good things about this program. Kudos to the entire staff for being so caring and empathetic. I have tried many times to get sober and have been through many programs but this time it's different. I left there with a good foundation for my road to recovery. Going to NA/AA meetings everyday was beneficial. It taught me to get a network and take advantage of the program. I was never fond of meetings until I went to Core. Many thanks to the entire staff and all involved in the program.
